The meaning of mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning "circle." Even though it may be dominated by squares or triangles, a mandala has a concentric structure. A Mandala represents wholeness, a cosmic diagram reminding us of our relation to infinity, extending beyond and within our bodies and minds.The mandala appears to us in all aspects of life, the Earth, the Sun, the Moon and more obviously the circles of life encompassing friends, family and communities. Mandalas are circular designs symbolizing the notion that life is never ending. To make your own mandala you'll need:
disposable paper plate;
colored woolen thread;
scissors;
pencil;
ruler.
Along the whole perimeter of the plate cut out equal rays.
Then wrap the plate with a wooden thread, fixing it around the rays.
Take a thread of the other color and weave a spiral from the center of the plate, as it is shown on the third photo.
When the thread ends, tie a new thread of different color and go on making a spiral.
Repeat the steps several times - and you'll get your own pretty colored Mandala!
Hang the craft to decorate your home.
Make photos of your little one weaving a Mandala, upload to the App. Write whether he/she liked the original craft.
